50 Things Your Customers Wish You Knew by Sonia Simone (@soniasimone)
January 7, 2010Lessons from the climbing wall about growing your business…
January 11, 2010Over the Christmas period, I was browsing through the double edition of The Economist inbetween mulled wine and mince pies π and I came across this article about the modern view of progress:
http://www.economist.com/world/international/displaystory.cfm?story_id=15108593
It’s one of the best articles that I’ve seen in The Economist (anywhere, in fact) for a long time in that it poses some interesting questions about the society that we are developing…….. a society where progress is measured more not by how much we all win but by how we progress individually relative to others. They described our current state best as:
“It is good to go up in the world, but much less so if everyone around you is going up in it too”
which all seems too Win-Lose.
That got me thinking about progress, business, growth and the idea of abundance. Is it not time that stopped thinking about doing more and actually started doing more to make our contributions as businesses, people, families and societies more Win-Win?
I’m not sure what that means but I’m sure we can make a positive difference to progress and growth if we all adopt a Win-Win attitude in all of our dealings with staff, bosses, customers, investors, stakeholders etc.
More on this to follow but I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Adrian
