Improve Customer Relationships by Celebrating Small Wins
July 22, 2010It’s business and it is personal
July 26, 2010Some of you, if you spend some time on Twitter or hanging around the blog world, may have come across the #7links Challenge in the last week. If youβve not heard of it, it was started byΒ Darren Rowse of ProBlogger fame with the aim
to create aΒ list post that highlights some of the posts in your archives to new readers (aΒ sneeze page), thatΒ links out to another blog and that hopefully is a little fun (and not too much work) to do.
I’ve never done something like this here on my blog before but thought it would be a great idea and a great way top share some of the stuff that you may have missed over the last few months. I have, also, just notived that I have reached a milestone in my blogging journey and this post marks my 150th post!
Anyway, here are some of the posts that I have written over the last few months and one I wish I had written π I hope you enjoy this look back.
My first post
Grow your business by getting closer to your existing customers
Technically, this is my second post but the first one of any length. Funnily enough it’s also become one of the corner stone ideas ………building better relationships in order to grow your business…..of the new book that I am writing that should be out in September π Very exciting
The post I enjoyed writing the most
Customer retention: The hole in my bucket syndrome
I love this post as I was able to integrate an old song that we all know from childhood into a post idea. I hope by doing that I made it memorable.
The post which had the most discussion
Social Media for My Business: 16 Lessons Learnt so Far
This is a post that was a personal log of stuff that I have learnt over the last few months and was also featured on Social Media Today. Before their recent redesign, it had recorded in excess of 15,000 reads, a number of comments, around 300 retweets and caused my site traffic to jump by a factor of 3 on that day.
A post on someone elseβs blog that I wish Iβd written
Why Grow? and Other Wisdom from 37Signals
I read this and instantly wished I had written this. It’s a really refreshing way to look at business growth. I wrote my own take on it in The Ancient Art of Bonsai Growing and Business Growth.
My most helpful post
7 Steps to Finding Your Uniqueness
Being unique in business is one of the hardest things that I find business owners grapple with. This is a post that hopefully helps break down how you can find your own uniqueness. It doesn’t make it easy but I hope that it makes the issue more approachable.
A post with a title that you are proud of
I just like this title as it’s more of a statement that I hope encourages people to think and incites intrigue. What do you think?
A post that I wish more people had read
Make Change Happen β Pushing Through Resistance
Change is one of the constants that we face in life and I wish that this post had more reads. Why? I believe the formula in the post provides a simple way of looking at change and how we can approach it and diagnose what needs to be done to create momentum for real, sustainable change. Have you read it?
These are my favourites. Do you have other favourites? I’d be keen to know which posts you like the most.
I hope that you found this information useful. If you did, why not connect with me on Twitter @adrianswinscoe, LinkedIn or if you liked this article then why not subscribe to my RSS Feed?
If youβre thinking, all of this is great but Iβm not sure how to implement it in my business then read this and this and get in touch here for a chat.

This seven links challenge of Darren’s was a great idea. I’ve still not done it yet for Give A Brick was amazed to find enough stuff on my place that I was able to join in on my Heaven and El blog.
What I love from some of your choices here is how you’ve then used these blog posts as a catalyst for your book. Having read the latter first, be assured that I would have had no idea that the material started life as a blog. It’s a great example of how to use material that might otherwise have remained lost in the archives.
Hi Eleanor,
That was the master plan but it has worked out so much better than I expected.
Pleased that you did not get the feeling that the book was just a series of blog posts π

This is a really great set of articles. I too wish I’d written more of the 37 signals stuff….
More importantly, I’d wish I’d written Rework and got the royalties!
Hi Matthew,
Thanks for dropping by and I am really pleased you liked my dip into the archives.
I agree the Rework book is great. I am half way through it right now. Loads of great nuggets in there π

Congratulations, Adrian, on also taking the #7 Links Challenge!
I liked all your links here. I hadn’t read your earlier posts here, but liked them. I also liked your least read post!
Above all, it’s amazing to see what you’ve achieved here. 150 posts – that’s awesome. And this is, I suspect, just the beginning!
Hi Christine,
Thanks for your comments. I thought you’d like the change post. It’s a great model isn’t it?
Indeed, 150 posts….feels like quite a milestone. Can’t wait to do the next 150…watch this space π

Hey Adrian,
This is a great introduction. I think that “Voicemail is rubbish” might be my new favorite title too π
I have read many of these, though not “Make Change Happen β Pushing Through Resistance”. Going there now.
Have a great day!
Hi Mark,
That’s great that you like the ‘Voicemail is Rubbish’.
Let me know your thoughts on the ‘Make Change Happen…’ post.
Thanks for dropping by π
